Beverley Jane paints images that are welcoming, such as stolen moments of quiet walks or doorways surrounded by cheerful flowers. Her award winning paintings are colorful, but also peaceful and tranquil. They focus on the sunlight and shadows upon front entrances, porches, and facades of homes. Beverley especially enjoys the color change of the seasons, Spring’s new blossoms or Autumn’s changing foliage. Gardens and pots full of blooms are an important aspect of her sunny and inviting paintings. Beverley Jane hopes her images remind you of someplace where the sun is warm, the shadows are comforting, and the porch is welcoming.
As the pineapple is a symbol of hospitality, her collection of kitchen art also says ‘Welcome”. Patrons often comment how these small oil paintings look so real they can almost taste and smell the fresh fruit and vegetables.
Beverley Jane grew up in western New York, studied at Columbus College of Art and Design and has a Bachelor of Science in Medical Illustration from the Ohio State University. She has won many awards for her art including several “Best in Show” awards. After working exclusively in watercolors for over fifteen years, Beverley has found the joy and richness of using the pure pigment of oil paints. She is painting with a double primary palette. Using a warm and cool version of the three primary colors, red, blue and yellow, along with white, Beverley mixes a variety of colors to create her art. This is similar to the palettes of the Impressionist artists.
Beverley Jane says she works daily on her art; “painting brings me much fulfillment and peace”. She often does collaborations and commission paintings of her patron’s favorite place. With her talents and their “visions” Beverley enjoys creating them a one of a kind masterpiece that they enjoy for over a lifetime
